Oooooh.....you nailed it for me. Been fighting this for the last 4 years since my husband died. I keep saying "It is what it is", but I keep living like "It's not suppose to be like this". The longer I stay sober the more it is my expectations and perceptions that trip me up. (On a side note, my holiday version of this is: My expectations are always Norman Rockwell, but my family/reality is more like Jerry Springer. LOL) Thanks for the reminder, I might have to tape this one to the mirror. :-)
