Thank you. I've tried to write you a couple of e-mails but figure you just get so many or it just got lost. The truth is, you somehow seem to connect the answer within a few weeks anyway, or someone else does, just by me putting it out there outside of me.

What a thoughtful and helpful response to such a vaguely specific question!

I am liking the part with the vacuum...along with the letters to God and daily affirmations.

You've given me a lot to think about...I have chemical reasons to be depressed (like, brain chemistry), plus many years of bad, abusive relationships. I'm working with a therapist and doctor, and I am thinking I should increase my meetings.

I heard that we tend to think of ourselves as a turd in the center of the universe. Yep that's me! Or that was.

Love this post as I had many issues with this to the point of insanity. I did everything you suggested and it started to turn around quickly. It worked so well that I still do it...like AA. Thanks for the reminder that there are tons of tools available that have and will save my life.

One thing I learned that I do not need a pat on the back to feel good about myself. It's nice, but I do not search it out. Getting out of myself through service was huge, and doing it anonymously is icing on the cake.

full of positivity and helpful ideas. Yes, it CAN be done! I am an example. Strategies that especially worked for me were following my passions, knowing myself, focusing on others, and --one you don't have -- getting professional help. I found I couldn't get through the positive self talk without someone looking over my shoulder to make sure I did ..
