What a great post! And that last paragraph...it's the way it is.

Untreated Alanon...I like that phrase. I, BTGOG, am a treated Alanon. I just stumbled onto your blog and liked what I read. I have a mother who will pick up her 9 year chip in Feb. and a son who is active so I go where I know I will find help. What is the hardest for me when my son is abusing is keeping my mouth shut. He knows where to go when he's had enough. So I keep coming back....

I've learned that No is all I need to say. I don't need to offer explanations. Thanks for this post. It points out to me the heartbreak that surrounds those who go back out.
