I agree, well said, and diplomatic on every point. I might add that fear may be the underlying emotion to skepticism.

It's hard to deny that the recovery rates are much lower than they were many years ago. See, for example, the forward to the second edition which talks about an overall recovery rate of 75% . The problem is, we've converted the program into therapy groups and open discussion meetings, as opposed to following clear-cut instructions from the Big Book, because we think we know better. And it's much easier to tell someone to go to 90 meetings in 90 days rather than show them how to work the program as a sponsor.
