In it's black and white meaning, I agree. But being AA'rs as I like to call us, we are very judgmental regarding "how" fast they are worked. We each have our own pace. Progress, not perfection. My sponsor who has 30+ years dropped me today because she says I am "unteachable." What constitutes unteachable? I found a higher power for the first time in my life of 50 years, and I have arrived at the gates of the 4th step, but am not quite willing enough to take the plunge "at this moment." Does that mean I am not working the steps? I think not. It means I am hovering over step 3's willingness. Statements like telling someone they are "unteachable" is like telling an alcoholic to go drink.
