In my experience, people who fancy themselves as the kind of person who "tells it like it is," (and they are always describing themselves that way "You know, I'm the kind of person who tells it like it is. It's just who I am!") are rarely the type of person who can ever actually hear it like it is.
"When a person offended we said to ourselves, 'This is a sick man. How can I be helpful to him? God save me from being angry. Thy will be done.'" -- Big Book, pg. 67
"What an order! I can't go through with it!" -- Big Book, pg. 60
"You can say that again." -- Mr. SponsorPants, about 2:45pm, earlier in the day.
