Here I am, thinking I'm all badass and blogging about my .31 blood alcohol level at the time of my arrest for drunk driving 20+ years ago. Seems that God, the Universe or The Great Whatever never misses a chance to broaden my humility through new perspectives...
The speaker at tonight's meeting had a blood alcohol level of .48 at one point when she was hospitalized and, as she hilariously put it, nibbling her way out of the four-point restraints the hospital personnel placed her in.
.48!
And she's just a slip of a girl, too!
(Nibbling her way out of four point restraints! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.)
Mine was .44 when I checked into rehab, I was only kinda drunk for me and I am all of 5 ft tall and 100 lbs.
Women metabolize alcohol differently than men. And us wee things don't take much to change the percentage to a higher blood content. Very, very stupid. I'm lucky to still have my liver.

Only us survivors live to tell these stories.
